Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DriftSeas(“we”, “us”, or “this site”), accessible at driftseas.com, collects, uses, and safeguards information about visitors. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We do not require accounts to read content. We collect only:

  • Server logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, and timestamps, retained for security and abuse prevention for up to 30 days.
  • Analytics events — anonymized interaction data (clicks, scroll depth, page paths) collected by Microsoft Clarity (see Section 4).
  • Ad personalization signals — cookies and identifiers used by Google AdSense (see Section 3).
  • Voluntary submissions — when you email us through the address on the Contact page, we receive your email address and message.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its content.
  • To display third-party advertisements that help fund the operation of the site.
  • To understand usage patterns and improve user experience.
  • To respond to questions or feedback you send us.
  • To prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except as described below or as required by law.

3. Advertising — Google AdSense

DriftSeas uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

4. Analytics — Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to capture how visitors interact with the site (e.g., aggregated mouse movement, scroll depth, clicks). Clarity may set cookies and process behavior data on Microsoft’s infrastructure. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement for details.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use three categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, such as authentication cookies for our internal admin area.
  • Analytics — set by Microsoft Clarity as described above.
  • Advertising — set by Google AdSense and its partners as described above.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may stop working as a result.

6. Your Choices

  • Opt out of personalized ads via the Google and industry tools linked in Section 3.
  • Clear cookies at any time through your browser.
  • Access, correct, or delete any data you have voluntarily submitted by emailing us via the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are located in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively, including the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Data Retention

Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Analytics data collected by Microsoft Clarity is retained according to Microsoft’s default policies. Voluntary submissions (email correspondence) are kept only as long as needed to address your inquiry.

8. Third-Party Links

Articles may link to external sites (GitHub repositories, vendor docs, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies separately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
