SUBJECT: Establishment of the (b)(3): 10 USC 424
- Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) requests the establishment of the (b)(3): 10 USC 424 based on DIA's current (b)(3): 10 USC 424 is, de facto, a national intelligence center.
(b)(3): 10 USC 424 is the primary producer of medical intelligence for the U.S. government and provides finished, all-source medical intelligence on infectious disease risks, military and civilian medical systems, environmental health risks, medical science and technology, and, in partnership with domestic agencies, homeland health protection.
(b)(3): 10 USC 424 Designation of (b)(3): 10 USC 424 as a national center would be consistent with Departmental actions associated with the renaming of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the (b)(3): 10 USC 424 and the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC).
- Subject to your concurrence, (b)(3): 10 USC 424 will be established under DIA through appropriate amendment to Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 6420.1, (b)(3): 10 USC 424, 30 September 1996.
