Preface

  • In Beijing, only the five‑year multiple‑entry visa is currently available; other types (three‑year multiple‑entry, single‑entry) are not supported.

  • The Japanese visa must be submitted through an agency to the embassy; individuals cannot submit directly.

  • I found “Japanese visa” on Feizhu and saw that China Youth Travel Service (CITS), which I had used for a Singapore visa, also handles Japanese visas, so I chose them. This is for reference only and is not a recommendation.

Required Documents

Beijing Consular District – Japan Visa – Five‑Year Multiple‑Entry

  • Original passport
  • Photocopy of both sides of the ID card
  • Photocopy of the first page of the household register and the page with your personal information
  • Two 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm color passport‑style photos with a white background
  • Original employment verification, stating an annual income of over ¥500,000
  • Tax payment list showing ¥90,000 paid in the past year, generated from the individual tax app
  • Asset proof: original bank statements for the past year, stamped with the bank’s official seal and showing deposits exceeding ¥500,000
  • For applicants from other consular districts, an additional original residence permit and confirmation letter are required, to be issued on‑site by the local police station
  • For applicants from other consular districts, an additional copy of the company’s Beijing business license or office lease contract is required
  • Visa application form

Additional documents required by other travel agencies (may vary)

  • CITS processing form
  • Personal information processing consent form

Processing Time

Official statement from the travel agency: once all documents are complete and approved, they are sent to the Japanese embassy/consulate, and the visa is issued in about 9 business days.

In practice, it takes about 5 business days—still quite fast.
