Author Biographies

Liang Jianzhang, Chairman of Ctrip (now Trip.com Group).

Graduated from the inaugural class of Fudan University’s “Youth Class” (undergraduate). Holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

Served as CEO and Chairman of Ctrip from 2000 to 2006.

From 2007 to 2011, pursued a Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford University, focusing on population, entrepreneurship, and China’s labor market.

In 2011, was a visiting scholar at the National School of Development, Peking University.


Li Jiuxin, Ph.D. in Demography and Law, Professor in the Department of Sociology and the Institute of Sociology & Anthropology, Peking University.

After earning his doctorate from the Institute of Population Research at Peking University in 1995, he remained at the university to work at the Institute of Sociology & Anthropology.

His main research areas include demography, population sociology, and health aging. He is the author of Population Issues in China’s Transition and Problems of China’s Population Structure; and the editor of China’s Population: Too Many or Too Old and Debates on China’s Fertility Policy in the 21st Century.
