🤗 2024 “拼假” Guide

There are so many places I want to go this year, but I just don’t have enough vacation days.
In the blink of an eye I’ve been working for ten years. According to national policy I should get 10 days of annual leave per year, and my company gives a little more than that.
Did you know? China is one of the countries with the fewest holidays in the world.
It’s not that we don’t want to travel; we just don’t have the time. Even when we do have days off, we have to travel off‑peak, otherwise all we’ll see are parking lots.
I strongly urge an increase in holidays and more off‑peak scheduling—who knows if that dream will ever come true in our lifetimes 😂.
🏖️ Destination Inspiration
Visa‑free policies change frequently; use this as a reference, but be sure to verify before you travel!!!
🌍 See the World

Photos saved from the 2023 Golden Week; visa‑free policies have been updated—picture is for reference only!!
At the beginning of 2020 I had already planned my travel itinerary for the first half of the year. The plan back then was South Korea, Vietnam (Siem Reap/Da Nang), and Vladivostok, Russia. Then the mask 😷 arrived.
This year I want to go to Jeju Island. I want to explore Southeast Asia. — In 2024 I finally made it to Jeju! So happy!!
I also want to go farther (I really want to see the Northern Lights in Iceland), but I need to save up. See you next year!
🇨🇳 Explore China

I couldn’t locate the original National Geographic source, so this is for reference only.
Among the places I’ve already visited, I recommend: Kanas, Daocheng Yading, Mount Hua, and Four Sisters Mountain.
Among the places I haven’t been yet, I most want to see: Ili/Sairim Lake, the Potala Palace, Gongga Snow Mountain, Meili Snow Mountain, Fujian Tulou, and Kaiping Diaolou.
— In 2024 I went to Ili/Sairim Lake!! Friends, you really have to visit Xinjiang~
I’ll probably schedule a trip to Tibet this year (star‑eyes) — but that didn’t happen in 2024, so maybe 2025.
If you still need inspiration, check this out:
It’s a list compiled in 2023 during a stay at Atour Hotels, where the front desk recommended spots—jointly curated by National Geographic China and Bilibili, featuring 100 must‑visit places.

🏠 Around Beijing

Actually I haven’t really explored Beijing much.
When I first moved to Beijing after graduation, the company’s team‑building outings always went to nearby spots, but none left a good impression on me 😂 I even went to some places twice (I’m talking about Longqing Gorge) and still found them boring 😂
But lately transportation has become more convenient, and there are still many places within a 3‑hour radius worth a detour. A friend’s top recommendation is Datong, which I’m planning to check out.
The rest I’ll leave to chance 😁
